Untangling the Complex Relationship between Suicide and Brain Injury

Acquired brain injury has been linked to suicide attempts. Additionally, ABI can occur as a result of suicide attempts. This presentation will seek to untangle some of the complexities of this relationship.

  • Explain the relationship between history of ABI and future risk of suicide attempt. 

  • Examine ABI rates and presentation in suicide attempt survivors.

  • Help to determine best practices in therapeutic approaches and intervention.

  • Consider future studies on this topic.
