Every year, since 1990, a national conference primarily planned by state government officials called State of the States (SOS) in Head Injury, has been held offering the opportunity for participants to hear from and network with national and state leaders from around the country on current issues involving service delivery for individuals with brain injury and their families. Sponsored by NASHIA, the conference is open to employees of States and Territories, providers, professionals, individuals with brain injury, family members and national and state advocacy associations. The conference features well-known speakers who address current research, public policies, and best practices with regard to rehabilitation and community services and supports.
In 2017, NASHIA is holding its 28th Annual State of the States Conference at the Tempe Mission Palms in Tempe, Arizona, from September 12 – 14, 2017
